Mrs. Clark Apple Was Laid to Rest Today

Funeral services for Mrs. Clark Apple who died at her home on Lincoln avenue Monday forenoon was held by Rev. J. R. Adams this afternoon. There was a brief service at the home, after which the funeral proper was held at the Church of Christ of which she was a long time member. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery.

Mrs. Corrilla Hyden-Apple, was born in Richland township, near the present side of Fernald, November 2, 1862, and died in Nevada, June 4, at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 2 days.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hyden of Richland township. She was united in marriage to Clark Apple, January 9, 1877. Her home has been in this vicinity all her life except a few years from 1893 to 1904, when the Apple family made their home in Des Moines. To this union were born 6 children, 5 of which are still living. They are George E., Marcellus U. and Corrilla Booher living in Nevada; Robert E. at Arnett, Oklahoma and Grace Smith at Port Angelis, Washington. One child died in infancy.

Beside caring for her own she showed the mother love and sympathy by taking her little orphan niece Hazel Corcoran, now Mrs. Harry Hopper, and raising her as a daughter.

Mrs. Apple leaves to mourn her departure from this life: her husband, Clark Apple, the above mentioned children; 22 grand children and 1 great grand children and 1 great grand child with a host of other relatives and friends; also one sister, Mrs. J. E. Hilburn of Fernald.

Mrs. Apple was a member of the Rebeckah lodge. She has always tried to live the Christian life, has been faithful to her church and was always found in the services when her health permitted. She joined the Lutheran church when a child. Later on, while living in Des Moines she united with the Church of Christ at Highland Park, then united with the Christian church when returning to Nevada, where she finished her course in this life.

Mrs. Apple was a good faithful wife, an affectionate mother and a pleasant congenial person to meet at any time. Although she suffered much in the physical body, she was always happy in the spirit and kept her faith unwavering to the last.
