Lois Louise Kemmerer, 93, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M., Friday, November 15, 2019, at Stevens Memorial Chapel (607 28th St. Ames, IA 50010). Burial will be at the Gilbert Cemetery with light refreshments served back at Stevens Chapel following the committal. Memorial may be directed to the Gilbert Fire Department or a charity of your choosing in Lois’ memory.

Lois was born December 27, 1925, in rural Ames, to Floyd and Edith (Rainbolt) Bennett. She graduated from Gilbert High School in 1943. Lois was united in marriage to Kenneth Alvin Kemmerer on March 19, 1949, in Boone, Iowa. Lois and Kenneth welcomed two children, Patricia and Ronald.

Lois enjoyed word puzzles and jumbles & watching the Wheel of Fortune and Price is Right. She excelled at playing pinochle and cribbage and Lois enjoyed baking, especially pies, kringla and brownies. Most of all, Lois loved spending time with her family.

Lois is survived by her two children: Patricia (Arden) Miller of Coralville, Iowa and Ronald (Lorraine) Kemmerer of Melbourne, Iowa; grandchildren: Stephanie Miller, Jeffrey (Angela) Miller, Sharon (Bryan) Hilleman, Curt (Carolyn) Kemmerer, Scott (Anne) Kemmerer and Thomas (Katie) Kemmerer; and great-grandchildren: Ethan and Samuel Miller, Abby and Kyle Hilleman, Jake, Luke, Connor, Nelle, Brynn and Chloe Kemmerer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and his parents, three brothers Clifford, Herbert and George Bennett, numerous brothers-in-laws & sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
