Margaret Ellen "Peggy" Guy, 53 of Ames, Iowa was with family when she died on October 13, 2019 from complications of dementia. Daughter of David and Doris (Steward) Guy, Peggy was born on December 2, 1965 at Mary Greeley Hospital. She began her twenty-year career at Target shortly after graduating from Ames Community School District in 1987.

Peggy’s joyful spirit and love of life rubbed off on everyone fortunate enough to spend time with her. She enthusiastically cheered for all Cyclone sports, especially men’s basketball; won many swimming medals at Special Olympics; volunteered at the Ames Public Library and passionately followed Jacob in the Twilight series. Peggy treasured her family and adored dogs, cats, children of all ages and anything that sparkled.

Her smooth dance moves, positive energy, wild outfits and ability to inspire a smile will be missed by her survivors: sister Barbara Guy (Mark Pierson); nieces and nephew Shannon (Tony) Kooima, Jason (Courtney) Pierson, Mia (Luke) Osborne; great-nephew William Kooima; and great-niece Naomi Osborne. She was preceded in death by her father David Guy, mother Doris Guy, and brother John Guy.

Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 on Saturday, October 19th with a memorial service following at 3:00. Both will be held at Bethany Life, 212 Lafayette Ave, Story City, IA. Participants are invited to wear their Cyclone colors and/or all the bling they have. Wake will be held immediately following the service at 1816 Meadowlane in Ames.
