OBITUARY OF HERMAN SAMPSON

Died at His Home in McCallsburg August 6.

Special to the Journal.
McCallsburg, August 12--Herman Sampson was born on the Sampson farm a mile north of McCallsburg May 20, 1884 and died in McCallsburg Aug. 6, 1921, being 37 years, 2 months and 17 days of age at the time of his death. He was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sampson. He was married to Miss Rose Erickson, daughter of Mrs. Kammo Larson, Nov. 18, 1913. Four children were born to this union: 3 boys and 1 girl who are left with the mother to mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father. There are left also his aged father, his brother Sam T. Sampson, his three sisters, Mrs. Louise Helland and Mrs. Serene Michalson and Mrs. Christine Robinson to mourn the loss of a son and brother. One sister, Mrs. Lars Olson, died Sept. 7, 1907. His mother's death occurred just two months later on Nov. 6, 1907 and his brother Carl died Feb. 17, 1918. Herman has been in very poor health for the past two or three years with a complication of diseases but his death was due leakage of the heart, instead of consumption as we stated in our Wednesday's news. His funeral was held at the Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon in charge of Rev. Sandven. A mixed quartette Peter Egeness, Carl Caltwedt, Alta and Harriett Hougan furnished the music. Rev. Westfall of Williams assisted with the service speaking in the English language. He was laid to rest in the McCallsburg cemetery. The bereaved family have the sincere sympaty of the entire community.
