OBITUARYObituary of Mrs. James Ketcham
Margaret Ketcham was born near Farne, Ireland, Dec. 11, 1872. She was united in marriage to Robert Hunter at Farne, Ireland. Two children were born by this union, Margaret and William Hunter. Robert Hunter died Feb. 28, 1900. Her physician recommended her to go to America, so about May 1st, 1902 she and her two children sailed on the Furmessia landing in New York June 1st. They went directly to the home of her sisters at Alta Vista, Kas. On Oct. 8, 1903, she was united in marriage to James Ketcham. Two children were born to them Wesley and Anna May. About a year and a half ago Mr. and Mrs. Ketcham and the four children moved on to the Wyatt farm south of Colo where she passed away July 23, 1918. Mrs. Ketcham was a loving loyal wife and mother, a true friend and kind neighbor. She had been a constant sufferer for several months and bore her suffering with patience, looking in faith to Christ her Saviour. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, four children, five sisters and three brothers, besides other relatives and many friends. Two of her sisters Mrs. Mary Burghduff--Mrs. Fannie Thompson of Union were with her during the last few days of her life. The other sisters and brothers were unable to attend the funeral, they are Mrs. Lizzie Hooper, and Mrs. Mamie Alexander of Alta Vista, Kan. and Mrs. Anna Jenkins. Messrs. Benjamin, Joseph and William Tweed of Ireland. Funeral services were held in the M. E. church Thursday at 10 a. m. conducted by Rev. J. N. McCurdy. Interment was made in the Colo cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones by the entire community.
