GERALD GILLEY

Gerald Leamond Gilley, 75, of Collins, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1982 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.

He was born Oct. 1, 1906 in Iowa, the son of George and Ida Halterman Gilley.

He was a lifelong resident of Collins with the exception of the war years, when he worked in the Mare Island Naval Shipyards. He was a retired foreman for the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Committee of the USDA and was a member of the Collins Christian Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Delores Gallaher of Portland, Ore. and Zola Paterno of Oxen Hill, Md.; a sister, Zola Shugart of Melbourne; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and William, and sisters Sarah Smith and Eva Fertig.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Collins Christian Church, with Rev. Joseph Howe officiating. Burial will be in the Collins Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada.
