Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Mary Louise Rasmussen, age 50, passed away on September 7, 2019 at Dougherty House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on September 16, 2019 at Cornerstone Church, 56829 US-30 in Ames, Iowa. Visitation will be held for one-hour prior at the church, where there will be a luncheon following the service.

Mary was born on June 20, 1969 in Hammond, Indiana to Richard J. and Linda L. (Ferkull) Patterson. She attended Ames High School and worked various jobs throughout the years. Mary was known for her loving, yet sassy and witty personality. She enjoyed volunteer work and was always giving everything she had to others, even if it left her with nothing. She loved to spend time with her daughter and granddaughter and was also a lover of animals.

She is survived by her parents, Richard, Sr. and Linda Patterson; husband, David Rasmussen; her daughter, Abby Koeppen; granddaughter, Shlyo Larsen; her siblings, Julie Burge, Warren (Myra) Patterson, Elizabeth “Betty” (Anna Miller) Patterson, Antony (Lori) Car-Skaden, and Richard “Ricky” Patterson, Jr.; her parents-in-law, Larry and Barb Rasmussen; and many extended relatives.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Lynn Car-Skaden; and brothers Russell Car-Skaden and Kevin Car-Skaden.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Adams Funeral Home and online condolences may be left for Mary’s family at www.adamssoderstrum.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be directed to the family.
