Services For Anna Wickham Held Tuesday
Funeral services for Anna L. Wickham were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p. m. with the Rev. J. D. Ransom officiating. Organ music was played at the opening and closing of the service.
The casket bearers were Lewis Phillips, Marion Phillips, Harold Wickham, Arthur Turner, Delos Cerka and Owen Cerka, all nephews of the decased. Burial was made in the Zearing cemetery.
The following brief life sketch was read by Rev. Ransom:
Anna Wickham, daughter of H. C. and Pauline Wickham, as born March 27, 1876 in Zearing, Iowa. About 20 years later she came to Nevada where she has since made her home. She was an early-day school teacher in Story county and at one time operated a dress shop in Nevada. She had been a faithful member of Central Presbyterian church in Nevada for almost 48 years.
After an illness of several months Anna passed away at the Young Nursing home in Ames Saturday, January 14, 1950 at the age of 73 years.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Philllips and Mrs. Lulu Cerka, both of Zearing, and one brother Cornell Wickham, also of Zearing and by a number of nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and seven sisters.
Her many friends and neighbors will greatly miss her.
