September 6, 1987 - July 18, 2019

Erin Barnard, age 31, of Ames, departed her earthly life on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at her Mainstream Living home in Ames, Iowa with the support of Mary Greeley Medical Center Hospice Care. She was attended by her parents and siblings.

Erin was born in September of 1987 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Daniel and Dana (Boese) Barnard. Shortly after her birth, the family relocated to Ames, Iowa where Erin attended school and participated in many community organizations.

Erin had a unique gift for unconditional love with everyone she met. Fun and loud environments with friends and family were Erin’s favorite times. She loved being out in nature and being pampered by caregivers, family, friends and nurses.

Erin is survived by her parents, Dan and Dana of Ames, Iowa; her sister and brother-in-law, Bailey Barnard and Cole Wycoff, and niece, Marit of Omaha, Nebraska; her brother Andrew Barnard of Omaha, Nebraska; her grandparents: Tom and Viola Barnard of Grimes, and Barbara Boese of Naples, Florida and formerly of Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her Papa, Ray Boese of Wichita, Kansas.

A private graveside service will be held at the Jamison Cemetery near Osceola, Iowa with a Celebration of Life service for Erin at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Adams Funeral Home and online condolences may be left for Erin’s family at www.adamssoderstrum.com. In lieu of tuna casserole, jello salad, or flowers, Erin’s family ask for you to consider volunteering or dontating to an organization in your community that serves adults with disabilities.
