DEATH OF MRS. HOAGLAND

Aged Woman, Native of Norway Was Gilbert Pioneer

Gilbert, Oct. 31--Mrs. Martha Hoagland died Sunday night October 23 at 12:20 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Anderson at the age of 81 years. Mrs. Hougland was born in Norway August 9, 1846 and was married to N. J. Hougland May -, 1867 at Bergen, Norway. They came to America with their family about forty years ago. She leaves one son E. J. Hougland of Adel, three daughters, Mrs. Lena Latherow of Minneapolis, Mrs. Anna Brandeburg of Sioux City and Mrs. Albert Anderson of Gilbert. Funeral services held at the home at 1:30 p. m. and at the Lutheran church at 2 p. m. Wednesday Rev. Heimarch having charge of the services.
