FUNERAL TODAY

HEART FAILURE CLAIMED WARD AT COUNTY HOME MONDAY FORENOON

Funeral services for the later Reese McKee, 65, who died suddenly at the County Home Monday forenoon, will be held at the Bishop Funeral Home this afternoon at 2:30, after which interment will be in family lot in the Nevada cemetery, by the side of his father and mother.

McKee, who had been an inmate of the home for a number of years stepped into the office for the steward Monday morning and approaching Mr. Ersland said, "I am not feeling well and I am afraid that you had better call a doctor." While the words were still on his lips he began to topple over. Mr. Ersland caught him, called other help and a doctor at once summoned, but the man was dead almost instantaneously. Heart trouble was the cause of death.

Reese McKee was a member of one of old time families of county being raised on a farm in Indian Creek, in Richland township. he was born on a farm in Polk county, March 20, 1860 and the family moved to this county when he was but a boy.

He leaves two brothers, W. R. McKee of Nevada township and Milton McKee of Oklahoma, a sister, Mrs. Wilbur Corbin of this city, one daughter, Mrs. Dave Earwicker and two sons, Will and Rollie of Boone and Emmett of Kansas City.

Mr. McKee had been more or less an invalid for a number of years, being handicapped by poor eyesight and other troubles and for a matter of ten years had made his home at the county home, where he was a familiar figure and useful member of the family of county wards.
