Levenia Cory

Levenia Cory, 78, of Huxley died Feb. 13 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines of a heart ailment.

She was born March 21, 1911, in Jasper County to George and Mary Thompson. She married Royal Cory Apr. 11, 1931, in Ankeny and live in the Collins area until moving to Huxley in 1978.

She was a homemaker and a member of Elkhart Christian Church.

Cory was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Survivors include her husband, one son Richard E. Cory of Urbandale, one daughter, Rosemary Hartin of Lansing, five grandchildren, five great-grand children and three sisters, Violet Haley of Collins, Maude Schauper of Maxwell and Olive Dodd of Collins.

Visitation was held Feb. 15 at Chet Ryan Mortuary of Nevada. Services were held Feb. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Elkhart Christian Church with burial at Peoria Cemetery in Maxwell.
