Rites Held Tuesday For Marion Reasoner

CAMBRIDGE -- Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Cambridge, Iowa, Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 39, 1953 at 2:30 p.m. for Marion Reasoner, conducted by John F. Rex, pastor of the church and interment was made in Cambridge cemetery.

Music was furnished by a mixed quartette John Dyer, Mrs. Roy Gill, Mrs. Earl McHone and Earl Gardner with Mrs. John Dyer at the piano. The numbers were "Rock of Ages," "Jesus Lover of My Soul," and "More Love to Thee."

The casket bearers were Harry Cairns, Carl Fatland, Dennis Ingram and Cornelius Sampers.

Obituary

Marion G. Reasoner, son of William Garrett and Caroline Hunsiker Reasoner was born February 16, 1899 in Ames, Ia., and departed this life on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 24, 1953 at the age of 54 years.

He spent the earlier years of his life in Iowa and moved to the state of Wisconsin in November, 1923.

He was united in marriage to Alta Mae Ottman, July 16, 1924. Three children were born to them: Evelyn, Orville and Marion Junior, who died in infancy. The family returned to live in northern Iowa in 1928. Marion was a farmer until 1943 when because of his health he left the farm and the home was made in Ames. Three years ago he moved to Cambridge where he had since operated the Blacksmith Shop.

He united with the Methodist Church in Graettinger, Iowa, April, 1941, and transferred his membership to the Methodist Church at Cambridge in April, 1952.

Besides his wife, Alta Mae, he leaves his daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Lodestein, Glendale, California, and his son, Orville Reasoner, Cambridge, Iowa, with one granddaughter and two step sons.

He also leaves two brothers W. L. Reasoner, of Rodman, and Arthur, of Des Moines and two sisters Mrs. G. A. Eggleston, of La Verne, Iowa, and Mrs. Ora Clayton, of Elmwood, Wisconsin.
