Rites Held For Harold Roadenizer

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Colo Monday P. M. for Harold Roadenizer conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Alta M. Nichols. Rev. Darrold Ellers sang, "In The Garden" and "Beyond The Sunset." He was accompanied by Mrs. N. H. Brinkman.

The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Glen Olsen and four of his classmates: Marline Olsen, Georianna Nodland, Jeanette Sanders and Susie Harding. Casket Bearers were James McCoy, Dean Yeager, Max Smith, Merle Eggers, Wilford Barrett, Wendel Dugston and Howard Schatter.

Interment was made in the Maxwell Cemetery and was in charge of the Colo Legion.

Obituary

Harold Stanley Roadenizer, son of Charles and Aramilda Roadenizer was born July 24, 1934, near Maxwell, Iowa and died July 15, 1953 in Korea, age 18 years, 11 months and 21 days.

He spent his childhood and early youth in the Maxwell community. Five years ago he moved with his parents to a farm near Colo. He attended Maxwell and Colo schools.

He enlisted in the Marines, April 14, 1952 and was sent to San Diego, Calif. for boot training. On June 19, 1952 he won his "Private, First Class" rating. He was sent to Korea in January of 1953. He was killed by the explosion of a large shell while fighting in the front lines in Korea. While in boot camp, he accepted Christ as his Saviour and was baptized on May, 14, 1953 by his chaplain, Milton Ray. His superior officers say he was a brave and courageous soldier who performed his duties well.

He leaves to miss him besides his parents and grandparents, two sisters, Mrs. Aubrey Carpenter and Mrs. Thelma Hubbard, both of Maxwell, nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Harold was a friendly lad who made many friends because he liked everyone.
