Areal Deaths

JESSIE M. WAKEFIELD

Jessie M. Wakefield, 76, Rt. 2, Ames died Friday afternoon in Mary Greeley Hospital of natural causes.

Mrs. Wakefield was born January 4, 1896, northeast of Boone and moved to Ames in 1917. On January 20, 1920, she married Guy Wakefield. Since their marriage, the couple has lived in rural Ames, where she was a housewife and a member of the Lower Chapter of Chapter of Eastern Star.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wakefield will be held in the Adams Funeral Home May 20 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Henry T. Hackman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Mrs. Wakefield is survived by her husban, Guy Wakefield, 3 sons, Donald E., Guy, Jr., and John E. all of Rt. 2 Ames; 1 daughter Velda E. Oliver, Rt. 3 Ames; 4 sisters, Irene Keeny of Fraser, Iowa, Esther Gilreath of Mesa, Arizona, Ruby McWherter of Osceola and Dora Lynn of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and a gre8 grandchildren.

Five brothers and her parents preceded Mrs. Wakefield in death.

Friends may call at the Adams Funeral Home Sunday afternoon. Memorials may be left at the Union-Story Bank in Ames.
