SHERMAN STONE DIED AT ONTARIO

HAD BEEN RESIDENT OF STORY COUNTY MUCH OF THE TIME SINCE A BOY

Sherman D. G. Stone, 66, long time resident of Story county, died at his home north of Ontario Monday at 9:40 p. m.

Services will be held at the home Thursday at 11:00, after which the body will be taken to the church at old Peoria cemetery south of Maxwell, where further services will be held at 2 p. m. and interment take place.

Sherman Stone, a on of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stone was born in Noble county, Indiana, January 11, 1865 and came to Story county with his parents when a lad of four and half years. They lived first near Maxwell, but subsequently he lived in Green county, and also near Mitchelville, Ankeny and Adel and for the past three years the hoe has been near Ontario.

He was married to Maggie B. Freel of Des Moines in September 1884. Three children were born to them. One died in infancy and the surviving are Harry of Albia and Mrs. P. E. Banks of Ames.

The first wife dying September 6, 1900, he was united in marriage the second time to Cora Pollack on April 6, 1901. To this union six children were born. Two died in infancy and the others are William, Richard, Hazel and Willard, all at home excepting William, who is married.

He also leaves two brothers, B. C. Stone and T. H. Stone, both of State Center, and one sister, Mrs. Fanny Oglivie of Indiana.
