Peter Greaves Was Native of Oregon

Peter R. Greaves, whose funeral was held at Central Presbyterian church here, Jan. 1, eldest son of W. C. and Anna Greaves, was born at Oregon City, Oregon, October 30, 1880 an there grew to young manhood, when he moved with his parents to San Francisco, Calif.

He was married to Laura Brown at Portland, Oregon, Sept. 25, 1907 in which city they lived until 1915 when they moved to Iowa, living in and near Nevada. He was a carpenter and contractor and worked at his trade until 1919 when he took up farming. His health broke in the fall of 1925 and on Sept. 18, 1926 he entered Oakdale sanitarium at which place he died December 28, 1927.

He was a loving husband and a kind neighbor and friend, was a patient sufferer and to the last had kind word and smile for those near him. Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his loss, his father, mother, one brother, John S. and one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Reilly, all of California.

He was a member of the Masonic order, Order Eastern Stars and I. O. O. F. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Echlin at Central Presbyterian church, of which he was a member. Burial services were under direction of the Masonic order, in the cemetery at Maxwell.
