Funeral Rites for Mrs. Major Dunahoo Held at Maxwell

Maxwell, Dec. 18--Funeral rites for Mrs. Major Dunahoo were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church, with her pastor, the Rev. C. R. Fitz, in charge. Mrs. Harold Mohler sang two appropriate numbers with Mrs. Gerton Nelson as accompanist.

Alba Mae Veneman was born on a farm near Iowa Center, October 8, 1878 and departed this life on December 12, 1943 at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 4 days. Her girlhood and young womanhood was spent in the local community except for a short period when she attended a business college in Des Moines. When a girl, she united with the Evangelical church at Iowa Center. Years later her membership was transferred to the Methodist church at Maxwell, where she was a faithful and active member until a few years ago when failing health constrained her.

She was united in marriage to Major R. Dunahoo of Maxwell on October 9, 1900. To this union were born three children, Lenore, Mrs. Arlo F. Hayes of Nevada, Everett, who preceded his mother in death, passing to the great beyond October 30, 1939, and Merrill of Maxwell.

Besides her immediate family she leaves one brother, Vern Veneman of Des Moines, and one grandson, Tom Hayes, now in U. S. service, stationed in California.

The casket bearers were Guy Cooper, George Cole, Jake Viers, Van Gamble, Clay Robison and Ray Rupp. Burial was made in the Evergreen cemetery at Iowa Center.
