Funeral Rites Held Here Friday for the Late Fred Cook
Funeral services for the late Fred Cook, son of a pioneer Nevada family, who died at his home at Glenville, Minn., early Tuesday, were held at the Nevada Church of Christ Friday afternoon, followed by interment in the Nevada cemetery.
Rev. Theodore Maule was in charge of the services here. Brief funeral rites were held at Albert Lea, Minn., earlier in the day.
Fred Cook was born in Story county, Iowa, December 29, 1877, the youngest son of the pioneer family of James and Sarah Cook. Here he grew to manhood on a farm east of Nevada.
August 9, 1899, he was married to Lura Finley. Two children were born to this family, both dying in infancy. This wife passed away March 12, 1904.
On January 31, 1906, he was again married, this time to Etta Schaudt of Colo. They lived in Story county for several years, then moved to Minnesota where he passed away. One son, Glenn, was born to this union.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, son, Glenn, the latter's wife and 2 granddaughters. Also two brothers, John W. and James of Nevada and one sister, Anna Fraley of North Dakota.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
