OBITUARY OF MRS. BOTHERAS.

News Items Reported From Collins and Vicinity.

Collins, Ia. October 17--Sarah Jane Vasey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Vasey, was born near Collins, Iowa, Aug. 2, 1974, and passed away at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, Friday morning, October 5, 1923, age 49 years, 2 months and 3 days.

With the exception of a few years spent in Illinois, the deceased has lived in Iowa continuously until the time of her death.

On June 1, 1892, she was united in marriage to Daniel Botheras of Collins, who preceded her to the great beyond August 23, 1918. To them were born four children, Ray Botheras of Collins, Amos Botheras of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Severt Anderson and Miss Nellie Botheras of Des Moines all of whom survive to mourn the loss of a lovable and sacrificing mother.

Although she was a sufferer for years he bore her pain in silence, always sacrificing for others and expecting nothing in return. She was [a great lover of flowers and spent her] life trying to make things more beautiful. Early in life she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined the Methodist church at Durgin, Ill. She had no fear of death and died as only one who had done no wrong can die.

Besides the immediate family Mrs. Botheras leaves an aged mother, five sisters and five brothers to mourn her loss.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. B. Kern at the Church of Christ. Interment was made at Evergreen cemetery.
