COLO CHRONICLES.

Mrs. Martha Lax* died last Sunday morning at 2 o'clock, after an illness with pneumonia, of about a week's duration. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon, December 18, in the United Evangelical church, conducted by Rev. Ramige, after which the remains were laid to rest in the public cemetery. Anna Wentz was born in Germany in 1831, was married to Martin Lax in 1855, moved to Canada with her family in 1865 and five years later moved to Colo, Story county, Iowa, where they have resided ever since. She leaves to mourn, her husband, one son, Fred Lax, one daughter, Mrs. John McQuillin and one grand daughter. The relatives have the sympathy of all.
