HANS H. JONDALL DIED AS A RESULT OF RECENT STROKE OF PARALYSIS

Roland, June 27.- The relatives and friends of this community were shocked and saddened Friday afternoon by the death of Hans H. Jondall, which occurred at the home of his son, E. P. Jondall, one mile south of this city at three o'clock in the afternoon. While Mr. Jondall had been in poor health for some time, he had been up and around and was seen up town two weeks ago. On Thursday night a change for the worse took place and he failed rapidly till death relieved him from his suffering..Death came so suddenly that only two of the children were present when he died. Death came as the result of a stroke of paralysis.

Hans Jondall was a native of Norway, being born at Jondall, Norway, in April 1835. In the year 1859 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Simonson. That same year, in June, they came to America, settling near Roland, where they lived ever since. They were located first on their farm several miles southeast of this city, where they lived many years. The deceased was a carpenter by trade and was an excellent workman.

Sixteen years ago last April his wife was called to the great beyond and since then he has made his home with his children. The past several years he has resided with his youngest son, Ed P. He was the father of twelve children, eight of whom are still living. Besides these children he leaves an adopted daughter, Mrs. Ralph Morgali, now living in Lascasdas, Panama, and fifty-one grandchildren.

His children are Mrs. Joseph Duea, Mrs. Ed Quam, Mrs. J. M. Christian, Sam H., Oscar, and Ed P. Jondall, all of this place; J. H. Jondall, of Minneapolis, and Mrs. C. O. Christian, of Frost, Minn. The funeral will be held this afternoon from the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Jondall at two o'clock, and from Salem's church, of which he was a member, at three o'clock. Rev. J. N. Sandven will conduct the service.
