Daisy Fern Johnson, daughter of Edwin and Mary Dannenberger was born at Colo, Iowa, April 29, 1916 where she lived all of her life with the exception of the years she spent at college and six years of teaching away from Colo.

She attended the Colo Consolidated school, graduating in 1933. Upon graduation from high school she went to Simpson college for two years where she completed a course for primary teachers. Since then she had attended one term of summer school at Drake University. In 1935 she began her teaching at Bayard where she taught four years. From there she went to Grand Junction for two years then to Colo Consolidated school where she has taught for the last seven years. She was so devoted to her work and her pupils that she gained the reputation of being one of the most capable teachers the school ever had. It was not uncommon for the children who began their school experience with her to want to stay when it was time to pass on to another grade. Her place in the Colo school will be hard for others to fill.

She was united in marriage to Lowell Johnson of Nevada, May 13, 1945. They made their home in Colo with Daisy's mother although Lowell continued to work in Nevada. She was a member of the Methodist church and at college was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega social sorority.
