Rites Here For Miss Birdie Wall

Funeral services for Miss Birdie Wall of Nevada were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Saturday morning, March 5 at 11 a. m. with the Rev E. R. Walter officiating assisted by Rev. Robert Link.

Rev. and Mrs. Robert Link sang two songs accompanied by Miss Beeula Settle at the organ.

Burial was in the Story County Home cemetery northwest of Nevada.

Miss Birdie Wall was born in 1893, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bates. She was later adopted by the Wall family.

Upon adulthood she returned to Nevada to care for her father and remained here until her death March 2, 1960.

Miss Wall attended for a time the Moody Bible Institute from which she gained a background for her later work as a children's worker and church school teacher.

She was a life long member of the Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church of Nevada. She was also a charter member of the first missionary society of Emmanuel church, and one of the first in Nevada, organized in 1917.

Miss Birdie Wall has been preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bates of Nevada, her foster parents and one brother, Clarence, also of Nevada.

There are no known surviving relatives, but many friends who mourn her passing.
