OBITUARIES

Hazel Viola Hawk
Aug. 20, 1885, to May 6, 1996

Hazel Viola (Richardson) Hawk, 90, of Zearing and formerly of Ames, died of heart failure on May 6 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Zearing.

She was born to Ernest Huber and Florence Amelia (Hamilton) Richardson in West Baldwin, Maine, on Aug. 20, 1905. She graduated from Ames High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College.

She married Harold Ambrose Hawk on Sept. 2, 1928. She worked for many years as a photo finisher for Dixon Drug Store in Ames, retiring in 1966.

Survivors include a daughter, Harriet Hazel Ringgenberg of Ames; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Florence G. Roberts of Eustis, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister and a brother.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, May 14, at Colonial Manor Chapel in Zearing. The body was cremated. Fredregill Funeral Home, Zearing, handled arrangements.
