Joseph Sansgaard Funeral Services Held At Story C.
Funeral services for Joseph C. Sansgaard were held at 2 p. m. Monday, Feb. 26 in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Rev. Harold T. Masted officiated.
Richard Sansgaard was the vocalist and Miss Louise Olson, organist.
Pallbearers were Orville Olson, Roy Johnson, Omer Olson, James Quam, Milford Romsey and Arnold Ericson. Interment was made in the Story City Municipal cemetery.
Life Sketch
Joseph D. Sansgaard, the son of John and Jeanette Sansgaard was born on a farm in Hamilton County on Nov. 8, 1899. He died suddenly at the Story City Memorial Hospital on Friday, Feb. 23, at the age of 62 years. He died from a heart attack which he had suffered a few hours previous.
In 1921 he was united in marriage to Alma Johnson. To this union three sons were born: Donald, LaVerne and Lowell.
His son, Donald, preceded him in death in 1956. Also preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, John, and two sisters, Mrs. Maynard West and Mrs. O. C. Lund.
He is survived by his wife, Alma and his sons, LaVerne Sansgaared of Des Moines and Lowell Sansgaard of Boone; also eight grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Selmer Sansgaard of Keister, Minn., Mrs. Ella Hoversten of Glendale, Calif., James and Sverdrup Sansgaard and Mrs. Joseph West, all of Story City.
