Services Held Monday For Mrs. Emma Rains
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Rains were held from the Nevada Christian Tabernacle Monday, Oct. 17 at 2 o'clock with the Rev. W. L. Willis, assisted by the Rev. Roy Klopping, officiating.
Two songs "Will the Circle be Unbroken?" and "No Disappointment in Heaven" were sung by Mrs. Florence Rapp and Mrs. Harry Sutherland, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Richard Benson.
The casket bearers were Dale White, Robert White, Raymond White, Verl White, Earl Brekke and Orville Beach.
Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
Obituary
Emma Rains was born in Kansas City, Mo., March 1, 1881, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Goben, and died at the Story County Hospital in Nevada, Oct. 14, at the age of 74 years, seven months and 14 days.
She was united in marriage to George L. Rains, March 12, 1906, and 25 years of her life was spent in Story county.
Surviving are three sons, Homer Rains and Frank Rains of Nevada and Carl Rains of Butler, Mo., and one daughter, Mrs. Everett White of Kelley, She also leaves on brother, Wm. Goben of Burlington and three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Kelley Mediapolis, Ia., Mrs. Ella Davis of Kansas city, and Anna Brockhart of Gibb, Mo. Seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, March 28, 1955, one sister and one grandson.
