ELI M. OLSON

STORY CITY--Funeral services for Eli M. Olson held in Bethel Lutheran church in Story City on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The prayer service was at the Larson Funeral Home at 1:30 p. m.

The Rev. A. J. Bringle was in charge of the service. Mrs. Thomas Holm and Mrs. Peter Hermanson sang.

Interment was in the Fairview cemetery, Story City. Pall bearers were John Wierson, J. E. Bergeson, Clifford Soren, Tom B. Olson, Martin Olson and Reuben Nibe.

Obituary

Elias Marshall Olson was born at Grinnell, Iowa, Aug. 13, 1875, the son of Ole and Maren Olson. He was one of seven children. Four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

While an infant, shortly after his father's death, his family moved to a farm in the Rosendale vicinity located eight miles northwest of Story City.

On Oct. 1, 1900 he was united in marriage to Lena Juhl. To this marriage was born three children, Chester Olson, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. T. M. (Ethel) Holm of Story City and Roy Olson, Philadelphia, Pa.

Throughout his career in this community he was a member of various local businessmen's organizations, contributed valuable service to local activities and was a member of the city council for several years.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Jewell and has been a member of the Bethel Lutheran church in Story City since his marriage.

His death occurred at his home following a period of ill health. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by four grandchildren, Thomas, Richard and Gerald Holm and Donna Olson and other relatives and friends.
