Mrs. Ole M. Olson Funeral Services Held At Story City

Funeral services for Mrs. Ole M. Olson were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 9th in the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City. The Rev. George C. Strum officiated.

Truman Quam sang several numbers, one in Norwegian, "Den Store Hvide Flok." Mrs. Alfred Jacobson was the organist.

Interment was made in the Story City Municipal Cemetery. Pall bearers were Helmber Satre, Julius Satre, Melford Olson, Hilford Satre, Arnold Gaard and Howard Olson.

Life Sketch

Austina Petrina Satre, the daughter of Hans J. and Ingeborg Satre was born on a farm southeast of Stanhope near Lake Center on October 26, 1884.

She was baptized in infancy and confirmed in the community. As a young girl she attended school near her home.

On January 29, 1908 she was united in marriage to Ole M. Olson by the late Rev. G. Guttebo. After their marriage they established their home on a farm west of Randall where they lived for 26 years. On April 1, 1934, they moved to Story City where they have resided ever since.

Three children were born to this union: two sons, Hilford and Garvin Olson of Story City and one daughter, Mrs. William (Alfreda) Swenson of Oakland.

Her husband and three children survive; also seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one brother, Iver Iverson of Bricelyn, Minn. Five brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Olson was a member of the St. Petri Lutheran Church.

She died at the Story City Memorial Hospital on December 6, at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 10 days.
