Obituary for Art Willis Borton
Arthur Willis Borton, 79, of Nevada, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Visitation will be 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, at Memorial Lutheran Church (701 11th Street) in Nevada with Pastor Myron Herzberg officiating. Burial will be later at Evergreen Cemetery near Nevada.

Art was born May 24, 1939, in Rural Nevada the son of Roy Earl and Verna Mae (Michaelson) Borton. He graduated from Milford High School in 1957, and then attended Upper Iowa University for one year before returning home to farm with his dad. On July 17, 1970, Art was united in marriage to Donna Fleming in Nevada. Art farmed for many years before becoming a Realtor and Master Appraiser, retiring in 2005. Art was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada and served on many boards including: Story County Cattleman’s Association, Story County Fair Board, Nevada School Board, Nevada Chamber of Commerce and Farm Bureau.

Art was a big supporter of the Iowa State Cyclones and the Nevada Cubs. He especially enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren in all their activities.

Art is survived by his wife, Donna of Nevada; his children: Rick (Tracy) Borton of Nevada, Jackie (Rick) Rentfro of Neoga, IL, Brian Borton of Grimes and Todd (Missy) Borton of Nevada; his grandchildren: Nick (Lyndsey) Borton, Brittany Morrow, Lance (Melissa) Borton, Ty Borton and Skye Borton; his great-grandchildren: Chase and Lane Osborn, Harper, Eva and Hudson Borton and Camille Borton; and his sister, Jurine Borton Moore (Dale Hughes) of Marion. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Florine Smalley; and his first wife, Janice Radabaugh Borton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in memory of Art.
