Funeral Services For Mrs. Marion Held On Friday

Services for Mrs. Willard Marion were held from the Central Presbyterian church Friday at 2 p. m. with Rev. Leonard V. Fardon officiating. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

The alter was a setting of beautiful floral arrangements, which showed her wide friendships in the community.

Pallbearers were H. M. Vinsel, Don Jay, Richard Benson, Tommy Hall, Scott Ross and Keith Cooper.

Mrs. Richard Benson accompanied Keith Shickell in "Blessed Be the Name of the Lord." Appropriate organ selections were also played at the beginning an close of the service.

Obituary

Lucy May Wilson Marion, was born January 17,, 1898, the tenth child of Lucy Keran Fain and George Washington Wilon at Sweetwater, Nolan county, Texas.

She received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and Redeemer at the age of 18.

In 1919 she sent to South Dakota where she homesteaded a claim and taught school. There she met Willard John Marion of Fort Pierre, South Dakota, whom she married in 1923 at Abilene, Texas. The young couple made their home on a ranch in central South Dakota.

The Lord blessed their home with four children: Lucy Jeanne, Willard Wilson, Carol Joyce (Mrs. Malcolm D. Long), and Virginia Fain.

They moved from their ranch home at Lindsay, South Dakota, to Nevada, Iowa, in December, 1934. There they found a warm circle of friends and made their family home. Mrs. Marion was an active worker in the Central Presbyterian church for several years after she came to Nevada. Later she joined the Campus Baptist church at Ames, Iowa, where she was a faithful member.

Mrs. Marion is survived by her husband, four children; also six brothers, Ernest Wilson of Lampasos, Texas; O. H. Wilson of Plainview, Texas; A. D. Wilson Levelland, Texas; E. F. Wilson of Cornville, Arizona; W. Key Wilson of Glendale, Arizona. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Wesley Wilson and Arthur Wilson.

In attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Key Wilson and daughter Clara of Kodaka, South Dakota; Mrs. Cecelia Cudmore, Pierre, South Dakota (Mr. Marion's sister); Lt. and Mrs. Malcolm D. Long, Selfridge Air Base near Detroit, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Willard W. Marion, Clifton New Jersey; Rev. and Mrs. Leonard V. Fardon, Chariton, Iowa; a number of Ames friends, besides Nevada people.
