WALTER HERMANSON

STORY CITY--Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, December 23 at 2:00 in the Bethel Lutheran Church, Story City, for Walter Hermanson. The prayer service was held at 1:30 in the Larson Funeral Home. The Rev. A. J. Bringle officiated and Mrs. Andy Nelson was soloist.

Pallbearers were Francis Langland, Witchita, Kansas, Ingvald Ask, Ames, Pete Nielson, Greenfiled, Melvin Brown, Miller Gertsen and Henry Thorsbakken. Burial was in the Story City Municipal cemetery.

Life Sketch

Walter Hermanson was born at the Hermanson homestead, February 14, 1877 and died on Dec. 20, 1957, well into his 81st year. He was the youngest son of Peter and Bodil Hermanson who had emigrated here from Denmark in 1871. Mr. Hermanson spent his entire life on the Hermanson farm near Story City.

Mr. Hermanson was united in marriage to Nellie Olson of Roland on Nov. 18, 1899. She preceded him in death 27 years ago. To this union eight children were born, Leonard, Birdsall, Theodore and Robert of Story City, Edward Downey, Calif., Carroll of Stanton, Calif., Mrs. Mildred Evenson of Sima, S. D. and Marion of Mount Pleasant. All survive him as well as sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
