SUDDEN DEATH OF WELL KNOWN MAN

EPH PROCTOR OF SOUTH OF TOWN WAS VICTIM OF STROKE OF APOPLEXY.

The news of the sudden death of Eph Proctor, pioneer and well known farmer of south of this city, at his home seven miles south of the city, Wednesday evening about six o'clock, came as a distinct shock to Nevada people who had seen him and talked with him during the afternoon when he, with Mrs. Proctor and their daughter, ha spent the afternoon here. A stroke of apoplexy was the cause of death.

Mr. Proctor had not been well for some time and in December had suffered a stroke that had invalided him for some time. He was getting around in fairly good shape again, however, and his family and friends had hoped for his recovery.

Returning home from Nevada he had been looking after his shores and was separating milk, preparatory to driving to Cambridge when the stroke effected him and members of the family found him in the milk house. Help was summoned and physicians called from this city but he was dead before they arrived.

Mr. Proctor, probably about 57 years of age, was one of the pioneers of the neighborhood in which he lived and was a man well and most favorably known by wide circle of friends. he was one of the prosperious and recognized good farmers of the county and his sudden death will no only be a gret loss to his wife, daughter and other relatives but will be a sad blow to the community as well.

The funeral services will be held from the home this afternoon at two o'clock, after which the body will be brought to this city for interment. Among the relatives who have arrived for the funeral service are Mr. and Mrs. George Robinson of Charles City, Mr. Robinson being a brother of Mrs. Proctor.
