DONALD H. LOVE
Donald H. Love, 67, of 3333 Opal, Ames IA, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1987, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
He was born at Given IA May 13, 1920, to Clarence Love and Leila Peck.
He was married to Myldred Haynes Aug. 28, 1942, in Carlisle IA.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church in Ames and interment was in Ames Municipal Cemetery, Ames. Pastors Wesley and Christopher Daniel officiated.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Gene of Ames, Gale of Ames and Dale of Ankeny; a daughter, Glenda Ashley of Ames; a sister, Margaret Pisle of Lima OH; two brothers, Robert of Ames and Glenn of Des Moines IA, eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister and his parents.
Mr. Love came to Ames from Des Moines 40 years ago. He graduated in 1943 from Iowa State University as a mechanical engineer and was employed with the City of Ames as a traffic control supervisor. He retired from that position in 1983.
He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Gideons Club and Gideons International, Story County Amateur Radio Club and the International Municipal Signal Assn. He had been a member of the Emergency Corps for Public Service since 1962.
A memorial fund has been established. Memorial may be amiled to 3332 Opal, Ames IA 50010.
Stevens Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
