Last Rites For O. F. Carter [sic]

Funeral services for Orlando Frank Carver were held from the Ryan Funeral Home, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. H. G. Kohl officiating.

Organ music was played at the opening and close of the service.

The casket bearers were William Fuss, A. L. Harlow, Al Hansen, Frank Smith, Allen Vail and Frank Vail.

Burial was made in the Nevada cemetery.

Orlando Frank Carver

Orlando Frank Carver was born Jan. 25, 1899 at Berkley, Ia., the youngest son of Arthur and Mary Carver. After the father's death in 1902 the family moved to Winslow, Washington, where they lived until Orlando was about 17 years of age.

During World War I they returned to Boone where Orlando was employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railway.

He was united in marriage August 24, 1929 to Lois Farrington of Nevada. They made their home in Newton until the beginning of World War II, when he accepted employment at the Lake City Ordinance plant, Independence, Mo. He was employed at the U. S. Camo Corp. until his illness. His death came Wednesday, April 20, 1955 at the Independence Sanitarium where he had been a patient eight weeks.

Surviving are the wife, Lois, two brother, Adis and Harry both of Boone. Of him it was said he was a friend of all men and a lover of children.
