Final Rites For Mrs. Maude H. Jensen
STORY CITY--Funeral services for Mrs. Maude H. Jensen were held Tuesday afternoon, June 26, at 2:00 at the Larson-Peterson funeral home in Story City with Rev. W. D. Winter, pastor of Grace E. U. B. church, officiating. Mrs. Everett Anderson sang "Rock of Ages" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," with Mrs. Dorrell Doolittle accompanist. Burial was in the Story City cemetery.
Mrs. Maude H. Jensen, daughter of William and Mary Davis, was born Nov. 5, 1886, at Rozetta, Ill., and passed away June 21, 1951 at the home of her son Arnold Jensen of Winterset.
On July 4, 1902, she was united in marriage at Indianola, Nebraska to James Patrick Jensen who preceded her in death, in 1940.
To this union were born seven children: Lester of Story City; Emory of Kimbal, South Dakota; Arnold of Winterset; Mary, Mrs. Jacob Calven of Salem, Oregon; Fern, Mrs. M. L. Harris, of Sioux City; Ruth, Mrs. Ralph Lewis, of Sioux City; and one who died in infancy.
Surviving are the six children, fourteen grandchildren and one sister, Myrtle Warren of Heightsville, Wyoming, two brothers, Art Davis of Diagonal, Iowa and Lew Davis of New London, Iowa.
Mrs. Jensen was bedridden the last five years of her life, which she spent alternately with her children. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
