DEATHS

Mrs. Lizzie Jacobson

Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Jacobson were held from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10. The Rev. C. A. Gisselquist was in charge, with the Rev. T. J. Alvestad, her former pastor speaking.

Orville Olson was soloist accompanied by Mrs. Harold Olson at the organ.

Pallbearers were Harold and Raymond Murphy, Robert Bradley, Dale Olson, Oscar Olson and Ernest Opdahl.

Interment was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Lizzie Olson Jacobson, daughter of Ole B. and Olena Hetland Olson, was born Nov. 20, 1885 on a farm in Hamilton County, Iowa, and died at her home in Story City Wednesday morning, Jan. 7.

She received her education in a Hamilton County rural school and also attended Jewell Lutheran College and Cedar Falls Normal School, after which she taught six years of public schools.

On Jan. 28, 1925, she was united in marriage to Carl Jacobson. To this union one daughter, Lorraine was born.

They were engaged in farming on a farm near Rosendale before retiring and moving to Story City in 1948.

One daughter, Lorraine Jacobson of Story City survives.

Preceding her in death were her husband who died Dec. 25, 1957, and her parents, five sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Jacobson was baptized and confirmed at the Clear Lake and Ellsworth Lutheran Churches.
