ALFRED HANSON

Alfred Hanson, 88, of Nevada, died November 11, 1961 at Oak Park Manor.

He was born May 4, 1893, in Klemme, Iowa, the son of Christian and Martha Anderson Hanson and received his education in the Hancock County country schools.

In 1913 he married Rosa Brade of Garner. In 1946 he married Ettie W. Johnson.

Mr. Hanson served as the school janitor in the Garner Schools until 1929 when he moved with his family to Nevada. He was school custodian at Nevada for thirty years until his retirement in 1959. The 1946 school annual was dedicated to him.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Oddfellows Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Effie; two daughters, Helen Goodyear of Red Wood Falls, Minn. and June Link of Nevada; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Maurice Hanson in 1970; a brother and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 at the United Methodist Church in Nevada with Rev. Harold Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in the Nevada Cemetery.
