Velma Forrest Boozell

AUG. 31, 1907-MARCH 30, 2003

Velma Forrest Boozell, 95, of Collins, died Sunday, March 30, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Burial will be in Collins Evergreen Cemetery.

Velma was born Aug. 31, 1907, in Collins, the daughter of Ed and Rhoda (Thompson) Jones. She married Dick Patterson March 11, 1925. They divorced. She married Frank Boozell in January 1953. Frank died on March 20, 1986. Velma had worked at Reuben Donnelley Corporation in Nevada for several years. Velma was a member of the Collins Christian Church. She had served as church pianist for many years. She enjoyed her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, John E. Patterson of Collins, Larry Patterson of Mesa, Ariz., and Merle Patterson of Nevada; four stepchildren, Irven Boozell of Colo, Lonnie Boozell of Riverside, Calif., Betty Breer of Maxwell and Mary Smith of Collins; 12 grandchildren; 25 step-grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 36 step great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren, 21 step-great-great grandchildren; and two great-great-great grandchildren.
