From Fredregill Family Funeral Home obituary, Collins and Zearing, Story County, Iowa:

Norma Jean Bailey, 78, of Zearing, passed away surrounded by her loving family at Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. A visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Zearing Christian Church on Sunday, October 7, 2018 in Zearing, Iowa. Her funeral will be Monday, October 8, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zearing Christian Church with Pastor Adam Koester officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing.

Norma was born in McCallsburg, Iowa on August 25, 1940 to Orville and Georgia (Clark) Nordstrom. She was raised in Rural St. Anthony and Zearing. She attended Zearing High School and graduated with the class of 1958. After school she began working at Donnelly Corporation in Nevada and as a waitress in Zearing. On June 18, 1961 she married Jerald "Jerry" Bailey at the Zearing Christian Church. The couple resided in Zearing where they raised their family together. Norma then worked with Jerry at Jerry's Body Shop and Jerry's Sanitation in Zearing. She also worked many years at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Zearing as a nurse's aide and in housekeeping. Norma was a member of St. Anthony Christian Church and the Zearing Christian Church. Norma's greatest joy was spending time with her family, most especially her grandkids. She also like to roller skate, swim, fine collectibles, painting ceramics, and dancing.

Norma is survived by her husband of 57 years Jerry Bailey of Zearing, IA; sons Stuart (Joannie) Bailey of Zearing, IA, and Devin (Makayla) Bailey of Zearing, IA; brother Orville Nordstrom of Zearing, IA; grandchildren Tucker, Clara, and Gwendolyn Bailey; brother-in-law Kenny Weig; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, and sister Lola Weig.
