Julia Brattebo, the daughter of Berge and Pernilla Brattebo, was born in Story City on September 15, 1889. She was baptized and confirmed in the St. Petri Lutheran church. On May 10, 1910, in the home of her parents she was united in marriage to Severine Brattebo.
To this union were born three children, all of whom survive her, namely Byron of Milwaukee, Wis., Helen (Mrs. Harold Reimer) also of Milwaukee, and Robert of Bellows Falls, Vt.
After her husband's death, she was employed as a cook in the college dormitories at Iowa State college in Ames. For the past one and a half years she was employed as the night nurse at the Story City Old Peoples Home.
Since last Saturday, August 18, she had not been able to work at the Home and on Wednesday afternoon, August 22, she was moved to the home of brother, Lewis Brattebo. She passed away very suddenly at 9:30 that evening.
Surviving besides the three children are two grandchildren and three brothers, Lewis, John and Gerhard, all of Story City.
