Hans Anderson Dies At Story City Today At the Age of 78

Hans M. Anderson, 78, died Thursday morning at 12:15 a.m. at the Bethany Manor, Story City, where he had lived since 1948. He had been in ill health since 1943. He was unmarried.

Born in 1887 in the Stanhope community, he was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church south of Stanhope. He farmed for a number of years in the Stanhope and Randall communities.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Soderstrom-Larson Funeral Home in Story City, Rev. Pernie C. Pederson in charge. Burial will be in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Survivors are one brother, Emil Anderson of Stanhope; three sisters, Bertha Anderson, Des Moines, Catherine Anderson, Sioux City and Gladys (Mrs. Peter Hagen), Mankato, Minn. Preceding him in death were three sisters, a brother and his parents, Martin and Arlaug Anderson.
