Mrs. Dave Hopkins, Pioneer Woman, Dies Early Sunday

Colo, Jan. 27--Funeral rites for Mrs. Dave Hopkins, 90, pioneer woman of this community who died at the old homestead northwest of Colo at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, will be held at 9:30 Wednesday morning at St. May's church with her pastor, Rev. Fr. James Mahoney in charge and interment will be in St. James cemetery here.

Mrs. Hopkins who came to the community in an early day and has continued her home on the old homestead farm, leaves four sons and two daughters. The sons are Tom, of Boone, James, of Clinton, and John and Joseph of this community, while the daughters are Miss Mary Hopkis and Mrs. McGinnis*, both living at home.

Mrs. Hopkins has been ill for some time and for past few weeks had been failing very rapidly.

The daughter, Mrs. McGinnis, is also critically ill at the home, where she has been lving for some time.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The daughter of Ellen (Monahan) Hopkins was Ann (Hopkins) McGuinness (not McGinnis as stated.)
