MRS. PETER HOPKINS DIED ON SUNDAY

BELOVED PIONEER WOMAN PASSED AWAY AT HER HOME AT COLO

Special to the Journal.
Colo, Dec. 30--Mrs. Peter W. Hopkins, 90, pioneer and much beloved woman of this community, died at her home in the southeast edge of Colo last evening at 6:00 o'clock.

The funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:30 at St. Mary's church, with her pastor, Rev. Fr., Daniel E. Gorman in charge. Interment will be in St. James cemetery by the side of her husband who died August 19, 1904, and a number of children who have preceded her in death.

She was born Almira Hopkins, at Joplin, Mo., November 29, 1845 and was married to Peter W. Hopkins. Nine children was born to this union, seven of whom have passed away.

She leaves her sons, R. H. Hopkins of Colo and P. F. Hopkins of Des Moines, and four grandchildren, the latter being Russel, Clayton and Herbert Hopkins and Miss Frances Nothumb*, all of Colo.

The latter had lived with and assisted in the care of the grandmother for the past twelve years.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Frances Adelaide Nothomb (not "Nothumb" as stated) was the daughter of Henry Edward Nothomb and Almira Hopkins.
