Mrs. Gales Dead at Davenport; Funeral Tuesday
Special to the Journal:
Colo, March 7--Mrs. N. W. Gales, 76, former resident of this county, died at her home at Davenport Friday and the body will be brought to Colo for funeral services and interment.The funeral mass will be at St. Mary's church Tuesdy morning at 8:30 and burial will be in St. James cemetery.
She leaves besides her husband, a daughter Ella Gales at home in Davenport, sons Roger at home, Frank at Sioux City, Anthony of Rock Island and William of Davenport. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. M. J. Hopkins and a brother Anthony McCoy, both of Colo.
Mrs. Gales was a daughter of Rodger and Bridget McCoy, a pioneer couple settling on a farm a mile and a half west of here in 1868, coming to Iowa from West Virginia.
The sister, Mrs. Ella Hopkins, and a niece have arrived from San Diego for the funeral.
Mr. Gales was an earlier day resident of Nevada, having conducted a machine shop where about the time of his marriage.
