Mrs. Rose Putnam Rites Here Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose E. Putnam of Nevada, whose death occurred Jan. 1 in Painesville, Ohio, were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Monday afternoon, Jan. 5, at 2 p. m. with the Rev. James Dendler of the Nevada Methodist church officiating.

Mrs. Norman Dobson was at the organ playing a number of selections before and after the service. The casket bearers were William Buck, Clarence Hobson, Emmett, Holland, Cliff Myers, Glenn Smith and Earl Webb.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

Obituary

Mrs. Rose Bullock Putnam, daughter of Carl C. and Mattie Liggett Bullock, was born on Nov. 28, 1887 at Clarinda, Iowa. She died on Jan. 1, 1959 in the hospital while at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Good of Painesville, Ohio.

On April 15, 1909, Rose was married to Les Alexander and to this union a daughter, Ruth, was born. As a young woman Mrs. Putnam became a member of the Methodist church in Clarinda, Iowa, and was a member of the Nevada Methodist church at the time of her death.

On Sept. 5, 1948, Rose was married Edwin B. Putnam at Nevada. Mr. Putnam preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1958. To him she was a loving and devoted wife, giving him constant attention and care during his last illness which covered a period of two years.

Mrs. Putna is survived by her daughter ad son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Good of Painesville, Ohio, with whom she resided at the time of her death, her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Kelly of Nevada, a sister, Mrs. Louise Fraser of Eagle Grove, a brother, Ralph Bullock of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Lola Bullock of Los Angeles, the wife of her brother Lyman who died on April 16, 1958.

Mrs. Putnam is also survived by an aunt, Mrs. Mary Kegin of Maryville, Mo., and two uncles, H. E. Christie of Excelsior Springs, Mo. and Lyman Liggett of Des Moines. She also leaves her step-mother, Mrs. Jane Bullock, her step-brother, Abel Greenway, both of Clarinda, other relatives and many friends.

Those who attended the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Good of Painesville, Ohio, Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Fraser and Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Kelly of Des Moines and Mrs. Erma Frey of Ames.
