PIONEER WOMAN CALLED BY DEATH

MRS. JONAS BECHTEL DIED AT HER HOME SOUTH OF TOWN SATURDAY.

Mrs. Jonas Bechtel, 84, died at her home south of this city Saturday morning at 7:30 and the funeral is held this afternoon at 2:00 at the home after which interment will be in the Nevada cemetery. Mrs. Bechtel one of the pioneers of this community had been ill for several months with complications incident to old age.

She leaves two sons, Edward, who has always made his home with his mother on the old farm and George M. Bechtel, head of the George M. Bechtel Bonding company of Davenport, one daughter, Mrs. Minnie Cessna of near this city and number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Bechtel was a daughter of David and Anna Stecher, being born in Washington county, Penn., November 13, 1838. The family had lived on a farm a couple mile south east of the city for many years and she was a woman of many fine characteristics.
