LEWIS RASMUSSON DIED ON SATURDAY

WAS VICTIM OF CANCER.--WAS OF PIONEER FMAILY OF THE COMMUNITY.

Special to the Journal.
Roland, April 23.--Lewis Rasmusson, age 37, for many years a well known farmer of southeast of this city and a member of one of the pioneer families of the community, died Saturday morning at five o'clock. A cancer from which he had been a sufferer for some time, was the cause of death.

The funeral services well be held Wednesday afternoon. There will be short prayer service at the house after which the funeral party will accompany the body to Salem church in Roland where Rev. Sandven will conduct the services. Interment will be in the Roland cemetery.

Mr. Rasmusson was a son of Rasmus Rasmusson of this place and is well and most favorably known in the community where he was born and raised. He leaves to mourn his untimely death his wife and children, his father, Rasmus Rasmusson, Sr., of this place, two brothers, Bernard of south of Roland and Rasmus, Jr., of Marshlltown, and two sisters, Mrs. John S. Danielson of near Roland, and Mrs. Richard Rierson of Willmar, Minn.

Realizing that he was in a serious condition, Mr. Rasmusson went to Rochester, Minn., a few months ago and went through the Mayo clinic. There he was told that there was nothing they could do for him and he was advised to return to his home, to await the coming of the end.
