Mrs. Ole Leland Died at State Hospital

Cambridge, Dec. 9--Mrs. Ole Leland, Cambridge lady, passed away at the Iowa State hospital Thursday at the age of 62 years, following a stay of six weeks at the hospital where she underwent two operations. After the first she seemed to be making satisfactory recovery and began to speak of the time when she would be able to return home. Her daughter Marie was with her throughout the ordeal. Peritonitis developed, making a second operation from which she did not recover. Mrs. Leland was Miss Bertha Read born in Norway, coming to this country and to Cambridge when on and one-half years of age. She had seen much illness having been in indifferent health twenty years, bed-ridden invalid for many of those years. She leaves three sons and three daughters all of Cambridge. Two sisters and two brothers and three grand children. Funeral services were held at the United Brethren church in Cambridge Sunday at two in charge of Rev. Howard Mintle, assisted by Rev. Windsor. The choir consisted of a quartet C. M. Webb, Mrs. Ray Harrison, Mrs. Ed Bennington and Rev. Windsor, singing favorite numbers of the deceased. Pall bearers were Ole Severide, A. M. Mason, Geo. Clawson, H. Nelson.
