MRS. KYLE'S MOTHER DIED ON MONDAY

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 825 GRAND, AMES WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Sarah E. Galloway Koehl, 76 year old, died very suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. W. Gieser, 825 Grand Ave., Ames, Monday afternoon about one o'clock.

She has been a sufferer of heart trouble for a number of years, but had been confined to her room only two weeks. Her death came as a very sudden shock to her relatives and friends as her health seemed much better the last few days.

Mrs. Koehl was a pioneer settler of Des Moines having moved to Des Moines in 1877 where she made her home until seven years ago when she moved to Ames with her daughter Mrs. C. W. Gieser.

Mrs. Koehl was born July 22, 1854 in Springfield, Wisconsin. She was married to George J. Koehl at Springfield, April 2, 1873. She became a Christian in her youth and united with the Episopal church in Springfield. She has always taken a great active interest in the work of the church. After coming to Des Moines she united with the First Evangelical church of which she has been a faithful member for over 50 years.

She was a kind and loving mother possessing a wonderful personality and was loved by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12:45 at the home on Grand Ave., Mr. H. K. Hawley officiating and at 2:30 at the First Evangelical church in Des Moines where Rev. J. Augacher of LeMars an old friend of the family, having officiated at the marriage of the four daughters, will have charge, assisted by Rev. G. H. Bamford of the Des Moines church.

She is survived by her daughters Mrs. T. J. Kyle and Mrs. C. W. Geiser fo Ames, Mrs. J. C. Baird of Omaha and one son Mr. Harry Koehl of Des Moines, also nine grand children and five great grand children, and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son George L. Koehl, and one daughter Mrs. W. F. Wykle of Hubbard, Iowa.

By her request the pall bearers will be the four sons-in-law, Mr. T. J. Kyle and Mr. C. W. Geiser of Ames, Mr. W. F. Wykle of Hubbard, Mr. J. C. Baird of Omaha and two grandsons Mr. Harvey J. Kyle of Ames and Mr. Wayne Baird of Omaha.
